‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ has never been nominated for an Emmy, with McElhenney saying when taking to the stage alongside wife Kaitlin and close friends Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Danny DeVito: “Sixteen seasons and we’ve never even presented before.” He went on to say as Sunny’s snub was discussed in detail, with DeVito the only other cast member to have previously collected an Emmy: “I won some last week, we got five for Welcome to Wrexham.”
