Former England spinner Robert Croft has taken on a new player-coach role at Glamorgan after signing a two-year extension to his county contract.Croft, 40, made his county debut in 1989, and in July, he underlined his credentials as one of Glamorgan’s greatest players by reaching the rare landmark of 1000 first-class wickets and 10,000 first-class runs for a single county. He also represented England in 21 Tests and 50 one-day internationals between 1996 and 2001.Croft said: “I’m very happy to continue my association with the club and I’m looking forward to working with our young and talented players.”Glamorgan chief executive Alan Hamer said: “Robert is a real asset. Having spent 21 years with the club, he still has a great deal to offer and with one eye on the future, we are looking forward to seeing Robert work with our younger players to help develop their skills and talent.”
